If you’ve been wondering what sea levels will look like as the climate changes, head to the Sonoma Coast during a king tide. In the morning, you can observe the king tide (one of the highest tides of the year). Experienced docents will be available to answer your questions. Meet at the Shell Beach parking lot by 8am for a short, level walk to the bluffs. Wear weather appropriate clothing including warm layers and comfortable shoes that can get muddy. Sign up for the morning event using the form below.
If you return in the afternoon, you will see a corresponding super-negative low tide in the late afternoon, more than 8 feet lower than the morning tide! You will have a great time exploring the tide pools and observing tide pool creatures with experienced tide pool docents. To attend the afternoon events, sign up here Minus Tide Tidepooling.
Sorry, but this event is sold out.
