Privacy Policy

Stewards collects e-mail addresses and other personally identifiable information about visitors who voluntarily submit information. For example, the website uses forms for visitors to become members, make donations, make reservations, make purchases from our e-store and sign-up for our e-newsletter.
Although Stewards receives IP addresses of visitors to this website through monitoring systems, it does not compile and retain records of the IP addresses of visitors to this website. Instead, Stewards collects information about traffic to its website, including such information as the number of visitors and the popularity of particular pages of the website.
Stewards does not share email addresses, but may share mailing addresses that it gathers on-line with other nonprofits whose missions and constituencies are similar to those of Stewards. The organizations that receive personal information from Stewards may use the information for a one-time direct marketing and fund-raising campaign.
Stewards does not sell personal information to credit card companies.
Persons who have provided personal information to Stewards may direct Stewards to withhold their personal information from outside organizations and persons through opt-out.

Stewards does reserve that right to exclude some products or services from receiving discounts as long as they are clearly noted.
This website may contain typographical errors or inaccuracies and may not be complete or current. Stewards therefore reserves the right to correct any errors, inaccuracies or omissions (including after an order has been submitted) and to change or update information at any time without prior notice. Please note that such errors, inaccuracies, or omissions may relate to pricing and availability, and we reserve the right to cancel or refuse to accept any order placed based on incorrect pricing or availability information. RELEASE OF LIABILITY, WAIVER OF CLAIMS, AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK AGREEMENT
This Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims, and Assumption of Risk Agreement (“Agreement”) is made and entered into by and between the registered participant and guests including children (“Participant”) and Stewards of the Coast and Redwoods, a California nonprofit public benefit corporation, including its officers, directors, employees, volunteers, agents, and affiliates (collectively, the “Organization”).
- Acknowledgment of Risks
Participant acknowledges that participation in Organization‑sponsored events—including without limitation beach clean‑ups, coastal hikes, kayaking, yoga or fitness classes on the beach, educational workshops, and other outdoor recreation (“Activities”)—involves inherent risks, known and unknown, including but not limited to: Slips, trips, falls, and collisions on uneven, wet, or sandy terrain; Overexertion, muscle strain, heat exhaustion, dehydration, and sunburn; Encounters with insects, wildlife, and marine life; Drowning, strong currents, and other water‑related hazards; Equipment or vehicle failure or misuse; Adverse weather (e.g., high winds, rain, extreme heat); Transportation to and from event locations. Participant fully understands these risks and voluntarily assumes all such risks.
- Waiver and Release of Liability
In consideration of being allowed to participate in the Activities, Participant hereby WAIVES, RELEASES, DISCHARGES, and COVENANTS NOT TO SUE the Organization from any and all claims, demands, liabilities, damages, or causes of action—whether arising in tort (including negligence), statute, contract, or otherwise—for personal injury, property damage, or wrongful death, sustained by Participant arising out of or in any way connected with participation in the Activities.
- California Civil Code Section 1542 Waiver
Participant expressly waives the benefits of California Civil Code § 1542, which provides:
“A general release does not extend to claims which the creditor does not know or suspect to exist in his or her favor at the time of executing the release, . . . which, if known by him or her, must have materially affected his or her settlement with the debtor.”
Participant understands that this waiver means Participant is relinquishing all rights to claims both known and unknown.
- Indemnification
Participant agrees to INDEMNIFY, DEFEND, AND HOLD HARMLESS the Organization from any loss, liability, damage, cost, or expense (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to Participant’s negligent or willful acts or omissions in connection with the Activities.
- Medical Treatment
Participant consents to emergency medical treatment deemed necessary in the event of injury, accident, or illness, and agrees to be financially responsible for any such treatment and related transportation.
- Fitness to Participate
Participant warrants that they are physically fit, have sufficiently prepared for participation in the Activities, and have not been advised otherwise by a qualified medical professional. Participant agrees to promptly notify the Organization of any medical conditions or medications that may affect participation.
- Use of Likeness
Participant grants the Organization permission to photograph, film, or record Participant during the Activities and to use such media for promotional, educational, and fundraising purposes without compensation. If you elect not to be photographed please inform the Organization before partcipating.
- Minors
If Participant is under 18 years of age, a parent or legal guardian must check the box agreeing to all terms on behalf of the minor and assuming all obligations herein.
- Governing Law & Venue
This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of California. Any dispute arising under this Agreement shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in [County], California.
