Stewards enjoys a wonderful partnership with California State Parks. We plan and work together to achieve mutual goals for the State Parks under our care.

California State Parks
California State Parks homepage includes campsite and tour reservations, news and announcements, jobs at State Parks and cooperating associations.

California State Parks Foundation
A non-profit foundation that supports environmental education, wildlife and habitat preservation, volunteerism and sound park policy. They raise funds to ensure that our State Parks continue to be the places where cherished memories are made and revisited.

California League of Park Associations (CALPA)
CALPA’s mission is to provide mutual support and networking among the Cooperating Associations linked to the California State Parks System. 

Fort Ross Conservancy
The mission of the Fort Ross Interpretive Association is to promote for the benefit of the public the interpretive and educational activities of the Russian River Sector of California State Parks at Fort Ross State Historic Park and Salt Point State Park.

National Park Service’s homepage includes information on camping, reservations, news and more.

American Cetacean Society
Their mission is the protect whales, dolphins, porpoises, & their habitats through education, conservation, & research since 1967.

Bay Area Barns and Trails
Bay Area Barns and Trails (BABT) assists landowners and land managers with preservation and maintenance of publicly accessible barns, stables, pastures, staging areas, horse camps, and trails throughout Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Mateo, San Francisco, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma Counties.

Bay Nature
Bay Nature connects the people of the San Francisco Bay Area to our natural world and motivates people to solve problems with nature in mind.

California State Coastal Conservancy
The California Coastal Conservancy is a state agency that uses entrepreneurial techniques to purchase, protect, restore, and enhance coastal resources.

California Coastal Trail
The California Coastal Trail is a network of public trails along the 1200-mile California coastline. Explore our page for maps, projects, events, and more!

California Grey Whale Coalition
The CALIFORNIA GRAY WHALE COALITION has been created to ensure the remaining Gray Whale population is relisted under the US ENDANGERED SPECIES ACT. A three nation effort, the Coalition represents economic and environmental interests.

California’s Coastal Prairies
This website targets beginners and experts, land managers, private land owners, educators, students, and researchers seeking information to enhance their understanding of coastal prairies. They have endeavored to provide information in an accessible format that is easily extractable for persons with limited time (like most of us). The information they provide focuses on coastal prairie information from central and northern California, but will be of use to any audience curious about grasslands.

Coastwalk
Coastwalk works to explore and promote the opening of remote and heretofore inaccessible sections of our coastline.

Earth Island Institute
Earth Island Institute develops and supports projects that counteract threats to the biological and cultural diversity that sustain the environment.

Environmental Center of Sonoma County
With the aim of pooling resources to protect and enhance the county’s environment, a federation of local groups formed the Sonoma County Conservation Council in 1984. Eventually SCCC became incorporated as a 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit. The Environmental Center of Sonoma County is a project of the SCCC. It is operated by volunteers.

The Farallones Marine Sanctuary Association (FMSA)
FMSA is a non-profit, cooperating association that helps protect the resources managed by the Gulf of the Farallones National Marine Sanctuary through collaborative education, interpretation, outreach and research.

For the Sake of the Salmon
For the Sake of Salmon is a regional organization operating in Washington, Oregon and California. Their mission is “to restore salmon to levels which ensure healthy, sustainable natural populations and support productive fisheries.”

LandPaths
LandPaths forms partnerships between landowners and experts in land management and restoration. LandPaths then assists those landowners and partners in defining and implementing practices which maximize resource conservation, while allowing managed public access.

Marine Mammal Center (MMC)
Marine Mammal Center recognizes human interdependence with marine mammals; their importance as sentinels of the ocean environment; which is essential for all life; and our responsibility to use our awareness, compassion and intelligence to foster their survival and the conservation of their habitat.

Marine Protected Area Collaborative
The mission of the MPA Collaborative Network is to empower coastal communities to advance MPA management and encourage ocean stewardship.

National Marine Sancturaries
The mission of NOAA’s National Marine Sanctuaries is to serve as the trustee for the nation’s system of marine protected areas, to conserve, protect, and enhance their biodiversity, ecological integrity and cultural legacy.

Natural Habitat Adventures
Information on trips to San Ignacio, Mexico, where you can experience whale mothers and calves up close and personal.

Oceanic Society
Established in 1969 as a non-profit conservation organization, the Oceanic Society’s primary mission is protect endangered wildlife and preserve threatened marine habitats worldwide. The Society works to establish protected natural areas, supported and sustained through scientific research, in cooperation with local communities.

Public Lands Alliance
The Public Lands Alliance (PLA) is a not-for-profit organization working to enhance the potential of its members, who are dedicated to public understanding, appreciation, and stewardship of America’s natural and cultural heritage. Through education, information, and representation, PLA promotes the vitality of its members and their programs of service and support to the agencies who oversee this nation’s public lands.

Restoration First, Committee to Save Seals and Salmon
Information about the issues surrounding the destruction of marine habitat and the animals that reside there.

Russian River Watershed Council
The mission of the Russian River Watershed Council is to protect, restore and enhance the biological health of the Russian River and its watershed through a community-based process; which facilitates communication and collaboration among all interested parties.

Save the Redwoods League
Save the Redwoods League has been working to protect and preserve ancient forests since 1918. There are many wonderful resources available on their web site. Stewards has been very fortunate to receive grant funding from Save the Redwoods League for many years.

This site gives information on a number of organizations worldwide that work to protect the pinniped population.

Sierra Club
In 1892, John Muir and other conservationists created the Sierra Club – Protecting the Environment for our Families, for our Future.

Sonoma County Conservation Action
SCCA is the nonpartisan political arm of the local environmental movement.

Sonoma Environmental Education Collaborative
The Sonoma Environmental Education Collaborative (SEEC) is a regional consortium of environmental education professionals from organizations, agencies, networks, and school districts with a vision for an environmentally literate Sonoma County.

Sonoma Land Trust
Sonoma Land Trust conserves scenic, natural, agricultural and open land for the future of Sonoma County.

Sonoma Marine Protected Area Collaborative
The Sonoma Collaborative includes scientific institutions, environmental NGOs, tribal governments, and agencies interested in raising awareness of marine protected areas amongst coastal residents and visitors.

Wildlands Conservancy
The Wildlands Conservancy is a California nonprofit organization that buys, restores, and preserves nature preserves, and provides free environmental education programs for children.

The Russian River Area Resources and Advocates (RRARA) is a community coalition working to increase cross-sector coordination to promote a prosperous and healthy Russian River community. RRARA is one of several Health Action Chapters spread across Sonoma County working to engage the community in the effort to make Sonoma County the healthiest county in California.
