“From reclaimed, downed trees, I create stacked wood sculptures that are monuments to living trees.
Once in my studio, the shapes that I carve with my chainsaw are inspired by accumulated environmental stressors, scars and growth patterns that occur within the span of the tree’s long life.” -Victoria Wagner

Victoria Wagner, May Pond Farm Pottery Artist in Residence

Victoria will lead a demonstration on large scale wood creations. She will talk about getting to know your chainsaw and share safety basics to keep in mind when using your own chainsaw. You DO NOT need to own a chainsaw to attend!

Victoria will demonstrate how she approaches a large scale sculpture on reclaimed wood from the park.

Please bring your sketchbook in the event that your imagination is sparked during your time together.

Victoria Wagner is a wood sculpture and abstract painter living in Sonoma County.
Her work is collected internationally.
She is an Associate Professor and Co-Chair of the Core Studio Program at California College of the Arts in San Francisco.
