Discover Pond Farm Pottery, the historic ceramics retreat where Bauhaus-trained artist Marguerite Wildenhain taught intensive summer workshops from 1949 to 1980Explore her studio, located in the site’s original 1870s barn, set amongst oak-studded hills in Austin Creek State Recreation Area. Learn about Wildenhain’s philosophy—rooted in Bauhaus ideals—along with her remarkable life story, and view a throwing demonstration on one of the studio’s original kick wheels. Now a National Historic Landmark, Pond Farm Pottery continues to inspire as a rare site where European modernism met California craft.
