Join Sonoma Marine Protected Area Collaborative Meeting
Friday, Sept 25, 2–4pm at the Bodega Bay Grange
at 1370 Bodega Ave, Bodega Bay

This meeting is bringing in Bodega Marine Lab’s CCFRP (California Collaborative Fisheries Research Program) scientists for a presentation and Q&A on what years of volunteer-collected fishing data are showing at Bodega Head and Stewarts Point: species trends, how our MPAs compare to their paired reference sites, and how the reef ecosystem has responded to marine heatwaves before, during, and after.

You may not be out on the water, but this is the data side of what you’re already watching from shore. Seabird numbers, whale patterns, tidepool health… it’s all tied to the same reef systems this program has been tracking. This is a chance to see the bigger picture behind the stretch of coast we all spend our volunteer hours on.

At this meeting, we’ll also get a quick update from California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW), local and statewide coastal updates, and time for ocean networking.  Sonoma MPA Collaborative meetings are open to the public.
