Two-day Pond Farm Pottery Extended Tour/Workshop with Pond Farmer Hunt Prothro in collaboration with NorCal Pottery Studio in Guerneville.

WHERE: Saturday August 29th 9:30 to Noon at Pond Farm Pottery (located here, just above Armstrong Redwoods), and then we meet again on Sunday, August 30th from 1PM to 3PM at the NorCal Pottery Studio (located here), at 16356 3rd Street, Guerneville.

Join us on Saturday for an extended tour and wheel demonstration by Maryland potter and Pond Farmer Hunt Prothro, offering a first-hand account of student life at Marguerite Wildenhain’s celebrated summer workshops, including what she meant by ‘“form” and how the term “expression” informed her work. (The title of her most well-known book is Pottery: Form and Expression.) Pond Farm is located here.
On Sunday at the NorCal Pottery Studio in Guerneville, with students alternating handwork with wheel-throwing, Hunt will discuss and demonstrate the elementary structures of Wildenhain’s wheel technique, mastery of which she considered foundational to the totality of a “live form.”NorCal Pottery is located here.
All proceeds benefit Pond Farm Pottery. Once registered, you will receive confirmation. There, you will need to sign the attached waiver to attend.
$150 includes both Saturday morning tour and Sunday workshop. Reservations are required. Limited to 15 participants.
