This tour will immerse you in the history and natural beauty of this significant cultural site, a National Historic Landmark. Learn about the dreams and challenges of internationally-renowned ceramicist Marguerite Wildenhain, the first woman to graduate from the Bauhaus as a Master Potter. For more than 30 years, Pond Farm Pottery was Marguerite’s home, school, and studio where she taught hundreds of students in the Bauhaus tradition.
Tours begin promptly at 9:30AM and last two hours.
The tour begins at the Stewards of the Coast and Redwoods office/Volunteer Office which is located to the right beyond the picnic area in Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve. After a brief presentation, participants will carpool up the hill to the site, which is located in Austin Creek State Recreation Area, less than a mile away.
Cost is $35 per person. Reservations are required. Tickets are non-refundable, but transferable. Private group tours by appointment only.
