Cancelled due to weather and rescheduled for Sunday January 4th at 4:30 pm.
Meet us at Armstrong Redwoods for an evening walk on Friday January 2nd at 4:30 PM. Dress in warm layers, and bring a UV light. We will learn to relax and connect with nature in the beautiful redwood forest, walking slowly and quietly around the forest floor trails, stopping frequently to see, listen, touch, smell, and taste. As the evening gets darker, we will use our UV lights to look for glowing millipedes, scorpions and various fungi. Rain will cancel, but we will try to reschedule.
You can purchase a 365 UV light online, and at many home improvement/outdoor/hunting stores. One of our favorites is here: UV Light
Children ages 10 and older are welcome. If you are bringing children, we highly suggest that there be 1 adult per child, as the forest gets very, very dark at night.
Meets at the picnic tables in the entrance parking lot near the Visitor Center: picnic tables near Armstrong Redwoods Visitor Center
