Birding along Willow Creek Road (Beginners Encouraged!)

New to birding or just curious to try it out? Learning how to look for and identify birds can feel a little overwhelming. Stewards of the Coast and Redwoods is pleased to support your birdwatching journey by hosting Birding along Willow Creek Road with Teresa and Miles Tuffli who love helping bird-curious beginners venture out to appreciate the bird world. All experience levels are welcome.

You will learn tips and techniques on where, when, and how to look for birds by stopping to study birds along the walk… and listening too! This event will include 2-3 miles of slow walking and observations over pavement and a gravel road with some minor slopes. Bring binoculars if you have them (a limited number will be available for participants to borrow).
We’ll enjoy the start of spring breeding season and be on the lookout for songbirds in the willows, alders, and scrub. And with some views of the Russian River, we’ll check for water-related species as well.
Please note there are no bathroom facilities at this location. The outing will be cancelled or postponed in the event of moderate or heavy rain.

Cost: $25 per person (general public), and Stewards of the Coast and Redwoods members take 20% off: Become a member!

Class size is limited
