Join longtime Stewards docent Casey Marks on a moonless night for an evening of star viewing Friday, October 24th. Casey has been learning about the night sky and using her Questar telescope for years.
We will meet at the overlook at Austin Creek State Recreation Area where Casey will give a short talk as to what to expect as the sky grows dark we will start viewing. Viewing will last until approximately 8:30/9:00PM.
A few things about the location:
- Please be aware that the road to the overlook is narrow, with blind corners
- The drive up to the overlook is approximately 15- 20 minutes from the Armstrong park entrance
- Because of the road, we ask that you do not drink alcohol. We want everyone to stay safe!
- Sorry, no children under 16.
- There are no bathrooms at the overlook.
Casey recommends downloading the Startracker app (or any similar app) at home before the event as reception may be tricky at the site.
