Are you interested in volunteering for Stewards Seal Watch Program? Volunteers support the safe viewing of harbor seals during weekends in the Spring and Summer months at Goat Rock State Beach, near the mouth of the Russian River. With your help, park visitors can learn about our beautiful harbor seals and their pups, the natural history of the area, and how the Marine Mammal Protection Act ensures their safety.

This volunteer training is a two part series. If you missed the first meeting, no worries!

  1. View this seal watch training before the in-person meeting.
  2. Meet us at 10AM on March 16th, 2024 at Goat Rock Beach. Dress warm, and bring a lunch. The location is at: https://goo.gl/maps/HyYSWovnjJoKssbq9

These training sessions are led by experts in the field of marine mammal and environmental education, with Clare Schuett-Hall and David Berman.
