Taye is a writer, educator, mycologist and naturalist.  You can visit her website at: https://www.symbiiotica.com/

Join Taylor “Taye” Bright and enjoy a flat, slow, gentle walk discovering mushrooms and fungi in Armstrong Redwoods. In addition to the well known species such as Turkey Tail, you will learn to identify finds that may be deemed rare – such as a type of yellow waxy cap that was found on one of the forest’s paths, or, very unusual glowing (under UV/Blacklight) fluorescent Parrot Mushroom found on Pioneer Trail.

The two available classes are: February 24, 2023 and March 3, 2023.  The forest changes weekly… you never know what kind of fungi you will find so we highly suggest that you sign up for both!

Be sure to wear a warm coat and have gloves, a hat, a pad and pencil, and you phone or a camera to take photos.  You may also want to consider purchasing a UV/blacklight flashlight in case we come across any fluorescent mushrooms or fungi… or animals!  (We have a millipede that fluoresces under black lights in Armstrong Redwoods!)

Limit is 25 participants for each event. Tickets are $25 per person.  You will receive 20% off as a Stewards member  Click here to sign up.

*PLEASE NOTE: WE WILL NOT BE PICKING MUSHROOMS.
Armstrong Redwoods is a State Natural Reserve.  We can not remove plants, animals or insects of any type.
Most of the mushrooms and fungi being identified is not for human consumption.
We will only be taking photos.
