Monarchs are on the move and have already been sighted here in Sonoma County. In the coming weeks, their migration toward the California coast will be underway as they begin gathering at overwintering sites.
If you’d like to volunteer for the 2026 Western Monarch Count through the Xerces Society, now is a great time to get started. Volunteers help monitor local overwintering sites and contribute observations to this important community science effort. No previous experience is necessary, and training is provided.
