Pond Farm Artist in Residence, Sue Ellen McCann will introduce you to the process of gathering and harvesting dye plants, preparing the fibers, creating dye baths, dying the fibers, and a few tips on how to modify your colors. Plants have been used for thousands of years for dying in arts and crafts, and are as relevant today as in the past.
Join us! Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve, at Smokey’s Den picnic area on May 21st starting at 4:30pm.
Loction: One mile past the entrance kiosk in Armstrong Redwoods – 17000 Armstrong Woods Road in Guerneville. Once you get to the park and pass the kiosk, stay to your right until you arrive at the picnic area. Smokey’s Den is located next to the bridge.
