The "Volunteers in Parks" (VIP) programs in Armstrong Redwoods SNR and Austin Creek SRA encompass education and stewardship. Stewards offers a variety of unique opportunities and time commitments for individuals or groups wishing to participate as volunteers. Come and join a marvelous group of people who find being a State Parks Volunteer a most rewarding experience!

Volunteers are needed to staff the Visitor Center, which is open 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Docent tour guides serve over 2,500 children a year who learn about redwood ecology. Trail Crew volunteers provide much needed stewardship assistance once a month. Docents also act as roving naturalists answering questions of park visitors.

New volunteers are required to attend one of the three General Orientation Sessions offered during the year. However, stewardship volunteers can sign-up for activities any time of the year and do not have to wait to attend an orientation before beginning to volunteer.
